Catholics
Introduction
The Catholic and Orthodox creed is a true creed. In this creed, it is said that we believe in one holy, Catholic and apostolic church, and the true meaning of that is that every member that belongs to the Catholic and Orthodox church must be holy. There is no proven true faith if there is no perfect obedience to the Word of God, and this is what Jesus proved. Jesus is the Head of the church, and Jesus is Holy, so His church must be holy. Every true believer is a member of the true body of Christ, and the body of Christ is holy. Holiness equals perfection. Our Lord always lived a holy and perfect life. God’s kingdom is always holy and perfect. The knowledge of God, which is the Word of God, always teaches holiness and perfection. This is the glory of God!
God always reigns by holiness and perfection. He always gives priority to holiness and perfection above everything, at any cost. This is exactly what Jesus proved when He visited mankind: holiness and perfection all the way to the cross. The holiness and perfection of God remains unbreakable so it always guarantees to all a perfect life with perfect peace, joy, and happiness.
What Is Sin?
Sin is the knowledge of satan. Sin is an unjust knowledge. Sin produces foolishness, evil, death and catastrophe among the spirits. That is why God does not permit sin because sin, if permitted, will mess up His perfect kingdom. Apostle Paul says, “The wages of sin is death,” Romans 6:23. What Paul says is true because sin produces death among the spirits. Even today, the whole world is in big trouble because of sin. That’s why the first lesson that Jesus taught was about sin. Here is what Jesus said, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent and believe in the Gospel,” Mark 1:15. Jesus teaches about true repentance. To repent while continuing in sin is not true repentance. True repentance is to overcome sin. And Jesus continued saying, “Believe the Gospel.” The Gospel of Jesus teaches us to live holy. The Gospel of Jesus never permits sin!
Personal Responsibility
To read and to do what the Gospel of Jesus tells us to do is extremely important. It is a personal responsibility for every believer because this is a command of our Lord, our Savior, our Leader, Jesus Christ. Hear what Jesus spoke to the believers from the beginning, “Then said Jesus to those Jews which believes on Him, ‘If ye continue in my Word, then are ye my disciples indeed. And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.’ They answered Him, ‘We be Abraham’s seed and were never in bondage to any man; How sayest thou, yes shall be made free?’ Jesus answered them, ‘Verily, verily I say unto you, whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin and the servant abideth not in the house forever. But the son abideth forever. If the son therefore shall make you free ye shall be free indeed,’” John 8:31-35.
Here Jesus says that we must stay in the Word of God, and we must continue to read the Word of God personally until we understand the perfect meaning. Then we must follow up with full obedience like Jesus proved. Full obedience until death.
In everything we must have a personal experience. This is a fact. If we want to become a doctor or anything else, we must have personal experience. The same thing goes with any believer. We must have personal experience with the Gospel of Jesus and after the personal experience, we must prove to Jesus every moment of everyday that we do what He tells us to do because then we prove we are faithful and true believers. That’s what the twelve Apostles proved. They had personal experience of the Gospel, obeyed the Gospel, and lived holy lives. They also had personal experience with the Holy Spirit. The same thing must happen with every true Christian. It is very important to personally read the Gospels, the New Testament of Christ, so you can verify the truth yourself.
Obedience & The Apostles
No religion or preacher can make you obey Jesus. Do not give your responsibility to others. God expects each one of us to follow our responsibility of true obedience. To obey Jesus is a personal responsibility. Jesus says, “If you love me, keep my commandments,” John 14:15. As Christians we must obey Jesus, our Leader, for sure while letting no man take His place in leadership. Jesus is the Head of the church as He is our Savior, our Leader, and our Lord. The best religion anywhere is the unbreakable perfection of God which stays unbroken and perfect always. The best believer is the one that always totally obeys God’s perfection. So the Apostles belonged to the true Catholic church, the ones who were living holy anywhere on the earth, which means they were all holy.
The Apostles were also Orthodox, which means they obeyed Jesus truly while belonging to the Orthodox church of Jesus Christ which permits no sin. So Jesus is the true and Holy Leader to the Catholics and Orthodox, to the ones that surely live a holy life. This is exactly what the Catholic and Orthodox creed says, “…We believe in one holy, Catholic and Apostolic church…” The first apostles were truly holy while working very hard to not bring believers to any religion but to submit totally to Christ and obey Christ. “You cannot serve two masters,” Matthew 6:24.
We have another proven fact which is this: No one can fool God. I can fool you. You can fool me. But no one can fool Almighty God. God is always looking for us to prove holiness through perfect obedience to the Gospel He gave us through His Son. Hear what Jesus said, “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord’ shall enter the kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in Heaven,” Matthew 7:21. The first apostles had the power of the Holy Spirit of God. Through them, He raised the dead, healed sicknesses, and did miracles.
The first apostles had the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit working amongst them as we see in 1 Corinthians 12:8-11. “For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit. To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.” What is the power of the Holy Spirit, and why do we need that power? Do you know? The power of the Holy Spirit works through the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit. The first of the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit is the gift of wisdom.
Every believer needs the wisdom of the Holy Spirit. The wisdom of the Holy Spirit teaches us how to overcome all the power of the devil and the demons.
The wisdom of the Holy Spirit teaches us how to completely overcome any foolishness or any unjust or evil knowledge that is in our minds. He also teaches us how to be protected from any other evil person or spirit that tries to put that type of knowledge into our minds. That’s why Jesus says, “The Holy Spirit will teach you all of the truth,” John 16:13. These nine gifts of the Holy Spirit are for any true believer, including you, and they are given as the Holy Spirit gives. So if we have the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit is working through us with these nine gifts. This is what happened from the beginning with the apostles. The apostle Peter said “this is for us and for all who believe,” Acts 2:39. The Apostles Peter and Paul were truly Catholics and Orthodox because they obeyed Jesus with all their hearts and lived holy lives. They also had the power of the Holy Spirit. How about you? Additionally, that is why Paul says to the church, “Walk by the Spirit, not by the flesh,” Galatians 5:16. Here is what Paul writes to the Christian church in Galatia:
“This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another,” Galatians 5:16-26.
So Apostle Paul says to the Christians that if we do the works of the flesh, which we read about, we will not make it into heaven. We are going to hell, then. If any preacher or any religions tells us otherwise, they have lied to us. We are not supposed to obey any liar. Paul did not lie. He told us the truth. If we personally read and understand the Gospel of Christ, then we will be able to catch any liar that tries to lie to us against the truth of the Gospel of Christ. But if we do not have a personal understanding of the Gospel, then we can get trapped in their lies and go to hell. That’s why Jesus says, “The blind follow the blind and they both fall into the ditch,” Matthew 15:14. There are so many religions and everybody claims they have the truth, yet every religion teaches differently from the other. Every religion claims to have the truth! How can every religion have the truth when each one gives different meanings to what they read?
Salvation & Holiness
Let’s read what Apostle Paul writes to the church in Ephesus which is for every believer as it is crucial for our salvation: “This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind. Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them because of the blindness of their heart. Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness to work all uncleanness with greediness. But ye have not so learned Christ. If so be that ye have heard Him, and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: That ye put off concerning the former conversation of the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind. And that ye put on the new man which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness,” Ephesians 4:17-24. We can no longer live a life of sin.
We all have a personal responsibility to learn the perfect personality of Christ so that we may copy it in our being. After you learn the perfect personality of Christ and obey him, then that perfect personality of Christ can become our personality. That’s how we become a true Christian of Christ and not of any man. Only then may Christ come for a true church without spot of wrinkle. The Bible, the Word of God, says, “ That He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish,” Ephesians 5:27. Are you sure you are a spotless Christian? That is what Christ wants.
So who teaches the 100% truth? We must listen to what Jesus, our Leader tells us. He gave us the verification of the truth. That’s why Jesus says He is the Truth. Read how Jesus answered Apostle Thomas, “Jesus said unto him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man cometh unto the Father except by me,” John 14:6.
Jesus also spoke of the Holy Spirit, that the Holy Spirit would teach us all the entire truth by saying, “However, when He, the Spirit of truth has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak, and He will tell you things to come,” John 16:13. So Jesus and the Holy Spirit are the best to teach and give us the true meaning of every Scripture of the Gospel when we read it for ourselves every day and ask Jesus personally to help us along with the Holy Spirit.
Again, we believe in one holy, Catholic and Apostolic church. Jesus and the Holy Spirit taught the Apostles and they were in the truth, obeyed the truth and lived holy lives. You call yourself a Catholic or an Orthodox, but Jesus wants you to be holy. So here’s the question. Are you holy? We are an Apostolic church which means we must follow the Apostles of Jesus and we must be holy. Apostle Paul said, “Without holiness, no man shall see the Lord,” Hebrews 12:14. How about you?
Jesus & The Holy Spirit
Do you have the power of the Holy Spirit? This is a promise from Jesus, “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem to the end of the earth,” Acts 1:8.
The apostles told us to submit to Jesus and to the Holy Spirit, and this is also what the Gospel teaches.
You must promise Him that you will always obey Him and ask Him to send you the Holy Spirit to become your Teacher so that you may receive power like the Apostles Peter and Paul had. No man on this earth knows all of the knowledge and wisdom of God. That is why God sent the Holy Spirit to help us. This is why Jesus says, “The Holy Spirit will teach you all things,” John 14:26. So by submitting personally to Jesus and to the Holy Spirit, every believer will surely become a true and holy Christian, the ones that will belong to the one holy, Catholic and Apostolic church as the true creed verifies us to be. This is proven by the true and unchangeable Gospel of Christ, the Gospel of the New Testament as it was written from the beginning without any changes. Amen.
Jesus says, “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me and my words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you,” John 15:5-7. This is proven by the true and unchangeable Gospel of Christ, the Gospel of the New Testament as it was written from the beginning without any changes. Amen.
If you are a true Catholic or Orthodox like Paul and Peter living in true holiness and guided by (while also obeying) the Holy Spirit, then you are going to heaven. But if you are not, then you will go to hell for sure. The greatest opportunity for everyone is to go to heaven to live eternal life together with our Beautiful Heavenly Father. The most horrible thing that can happen to anyone is to go to hell to suffer forever. In hell, there is no light, no food, and no water. You will be unable to find peace in hell. Therefore, the best thing for you and for anyone else is to be sure you are going to heaven.
There are many religions but only one Savior, and His name is Jesus Christ. The only way to heaven is through Him. This is what He told us again in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth and the life, no one goes to the Father buy by me.” According to what Jesus says, no one can go to heaven unless they first come to Jesus while accepting Him personally and truly. Jesus also says, “I am the light of the world. He that follows me shall not walk in darkness but shall have the light of life,” John 8:12. The light that Jesus gave proves to the world His perfect knowledge in everything as well as perfect, everlasting life. In order to receive this, you must come to Jesus with your whole heart and ask His forgiveness. Then you must ask Him to give you His Holy Spirit to teach you while guiding you into all truth. Again this is why Jesus said, “The Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth, “John 16:13. The Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit, is the best Teacher. If the Apostles needed Him, so do we.
When you sincerely ask Jesus for the Holy Spirit to come, the Holy Spirit will come. When He comes, the Holy Spirit will start to teach you. Then when you obey the Holy Spirit, only then will you begin to live a holy life. God expects us to be holy. There is no other way. The only other way is of the devil. Sin is from the devil. Sin produces catastrophe and death. Sin will never enter into heaven because heaven is holy. God said, “I am Holy, you be holy,” 1 Peter 1:16. To become holy is very important because that is what God is looking for in you. It is what He commanded you to do. God does not play any games and certainly does not permit disobedience.
Disobedience comes from the devil. When you disobey God, you prove that you are obeying the devil. When Adam and Eve obeyed the devil and not God, even though it was just one time, God came and cast them out of Paradise. You have to put your foot down against your mind not to play games with God. God expects obedience; you must obey. You cannot buy your way into heaven with money. God is all wise as He cannot be fooled. God is Holy. So because of His holiness, His children must also be holy. If you are holy then you are a good Catholic or Orthodox just like the Apostles Paul and Peter.
Here is the secret of everyone’s salvation, including your own: Peter and Paul followed Jesus because they made the decision to follow Him with all their hearts. That is what Jesus asks of all of us. With all your heart means, “totally.” If you want to be a true Catholic or Orthodox like the apostles, you must make the decision to follow Christ with all your heart. Then Jesus will accept you and the Holy Spirit will come to you, teach you, and give you power like Peter and Paul had. This very moment is the best time to make the right decision to truly follow Jesus so He can save you to take you to heaven. Jesus is waiting open armed to see what you are going to do. The apostles never say to the sinner, “you are okay,” or, “you are a good Christian or a good Catholic or a good Orthodox.” They instead say you must submit truly to Christ. Read their epistles and you will find out for yourself. It is so important to submit to Jesus because by submitting totally to Jesus you are submitting to total obedience. That’s what God was surely looking for from the beginning when He created Adam and Eve. God gave them paradise due to obedience. When they disobeyed, they lost paradise.
God expects obedience. You must obey.
Know The Enemy
Mankind has an enemy who is very evil and very cunning. The problem is we cannot see the devil or the demons since they are spirits. We must be aware of the tactics of the enemy.
The devil told Jesus that all the world, including the nations, belonged to him. The devil told Jesus he would give them to Him if Jesus bowed to him. “Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungered. And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But he answered and said, ‘It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.’ Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, and saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. Jesus said unto him, ‘It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.’ Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; and saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Then saith Jesus unto him, ‘Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve,’ ” Matthew 4:1-10.
How did all the nations become the devil’s? Through disobedience as well as lies. The devil did not create us or the world, so how could he say to Jesus that it all belonged to him? The devil and the demons work very hard, even from the beginning to spread the knowledge of sin into the minds of the people through evil, hate, and deception. Jesus came to give us the true seed of God which is holiness, obedience, and perfection. That’s why He told us to repent truly, which completely cuts off the evil knowledge of the enemy. Jesus told us to accept the Gospel totally while obeying it totally, which is the perfect knowledge of God. God never permits anyone to live under part of the knowledge of God along with part of the knowledge of the devil. That’s why Jesus says, “You cannot serve two masters…” Luke 16:13.
Conclusion
Are you going to accept Him a little bit like you have before or completely as He wants you to? If you decide to accept Him completely, open your heart and say to Him, “My Lord Jesus I want to follow you with all my heart as the Apostles Peter and Paul did. I want to obey you always with all my heart. I accept you as my Lord and Savior. I repent from all my sins. Please forgive me and send the Holy Spirit to me like you did for the apostles. Thank you my Lord for accepting me this moment. Amen.”
Truly we must have a personal experience with the Holy Spirit. The nine fruits of the Holy Spirit become a perfect life when truly, manifest in us; then the perfect life of God becomes our life.
Now you are a member of the body of Jesus Christ. As a member of the body of Jesus, you can speak to the Head. Jesus is the Head. No one else is the Head. Every other member of His body, including those of the priesthood are not and will never be the Head since there is only one Head, Jesus.
So from today, you can start to talk directly to the Lord (from your heart to His heart). That is why Jesus says, “come unto me all.” If you don’t know how to pray then Jesus told us to say the Lord’s Prayer. Luke 11:1-4, “Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, ‘Lord teach us to pray as John also taught His disciples.’ So He said to them, ‘When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us day by day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory forever. Amen.’”
You can express your love, your thankfulness and appreciation to Him. You can ask Him to talk to you. You can even ask Him to guide you or help you with any problems you may face. Jesus teaches, “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them,” Mark 11:24. Remember, He is the Head of your life. He is the only Savior, the only One who can take you to heaven.
