What Is Original Sin Part 2

Why Was Jesus Born Of A Virgin?

Why Joseph As The Stepfather?

So have we all have sinned in Adam's first sin and also that we are all born sinners? Is this why Jesus was born of a virgin? The argument is that in Adam's sin, now sin is passed down in the bloodline. And because sin is passed down the bloodline, through man's sperm, this is why Jesus was born of a virgin. Since Jesus had no earthly father, the sin in a man's sperm was not in Jesus' DNA. Thus He was born without sin. This is absolutely absurd. Firstly, how did Adam's sin suddenly become a part of his DNA to then pass on? Nowhere in the Bible does it say that. Secondly, how could I be responsible for Adam's sin when God says "every man is responsible for his own sin" in Ezekiel 18? How is that just? Why would God damn people for another person's sin? That would be unjust. Their argument would then be "if you were in Adam's shoes you would have sinned and done the same thing." That's also absurd. Nobody can say for sure what every, single person on this earth would have done. Nobody can say what every single person would do. Anyhow, let's prove why Jesus was really born of a virgin. Here is what the Bible says "Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel," Isaiah 7:14. Here the prophecy of the coming Messiah says the reason a virgin birth will occur is for a sign. It doesn't say it was for avoiding original sin or sin in man's sperm. It simply says for a sign. Another prophecy in of the coming Messiah says the Savior would come out of the root of Jesse who was David's father. "And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots," Isaiah 11:1. So Jesus was prophecied to come from the lineage of King David and take the throne. He also was to be born of a virgin. Mary was part of the lineage of King David as we see the geneology of Jesus from the mother's side in Luke chapter 3. So God kept the prophecy promise to mankind, having the Savior of man come as a human being through the genealogy of David. So why Joseph? Why of all people was Joseph chosen? Why not another man? Looking at Matthew chapter 1 we see the geneology of Jesus from the side of Joseph. It says in verse 11 one of Joseph's ancestoral fathers was Jeconiah. Now go to Jeremiah 22:24-30. There we see God making a promise to curse Jeconiah. In verse 30 God says nobody of Jeconiah's seed, his descendants, will have the throne of David. Because by having Joseph as the step father of Jesus only shows God's awesomeness in making the impossible happen. Joseph is a descendant of Jeconiah, whose seed was never to take the throne. Jesus is not Joseph's seed. Jesus was born of the Spirit through the virgin birth, thus fulfilling the sign in Isaiah 7:14 while also having a step father of the same bloodline of King David while not being his seed due to the Jeconiah curse. Amazing. So we see that Jesus was born of a virgin to prove the impossible with God possible, to prove to mankind that God seriously knows what He is doing. That His planning is impeccable. That He does what He says He will do. In addition I believe we see from the Word having Jesus be the only begotten Son of God, that He could not have any earthly man as His father. This is why it says Jesus was birthed by the Holy Spirit. Adam was not birthed by the Holy Spirit. Jesus is the only One formed as a natural baby in a womb by the Holy Spirit. Thus, He is the only begotten Son of God. That the Son of God cannot have any earthly man as His father. So for these reasons, this is why we see Jesus was born of a virgin. It does not appear to have anything to do with the mainstream doctrine of original sin because the Bible does not teach we are born sinners. That would mean babies go to hell, and Jesus teaches otherwise.
